Last friday, September 9, 2005, my daughter excitedly waved
a piece of white paper to me upon arriving from school. She then announced that she got honors for their first grading period. As a mother, i felt so happy and proud
, who would not be? After all, this girl of mine was prematurely delivered and i was advised to be on bedrest for 4 months prior to early delivery. And as i watched her growing up, she would often surprise me with her achievements in and out of school.
After the exchange of hugs and kisses
sweet then reminded me of my promise to her. She told me "Mommy, you said you will buy me a bike if ever i will become an honor student". I was shocked
and got speechless for a minute or two. As i seriously looked at my daughter's face while she waited for my response, i then recalled that i mentioned it to her days before their first grading exams. What can i do? will i back out of my promise?or will i just simply tell her i was just bluffing. I then called my husband who was still in the office and told him what sweet told me. He then said i should not back out of my promise. I then told sweet that i will buy her a bike after i receive my paycheck. Her face lightened up and she really jumped with joy
. Last night, as we were having a walk at the port
for fresh air, she told me she had a dream that she already got a bike. She then opened her eyes but there's still no bike. I was so amused
with the way she reminded me. I am now thinking when to buy her the bike that i promised. May the Lord shower me with blessings so that i can fulfill my promise to her
.So much for daring my daughter...
